Born Again of Water and the Spirit

Jesus answered: "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. " John 3:3,5   

"He chose to give us birth  through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all He created." James 1:18

"Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good."  1 Peter 2:2

New Creature Born of God

"Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in his name, He gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, not of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God." John.1:12-13

"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:1-2

Old things has Gone, the New has Come

"Therefore, if anyone is in christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"  2 Corinthians 5:17

Crossed over from Death to Life

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." John 5:24

"Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies." John 11:25

From Darkness to Light

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." 1Peter 2:9

"For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Colossians 1:13

"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."  John 8:12

" For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light." Eph. 5:8

A Spiritual Creature

" Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." John 3:6

"Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.." Galatians..5:24-25

Led by the Spirit of God

"For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." Romans 8:13-14

We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 1Corinthians..2:12

Belongs to God's Family

"Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's hosehold." Ephesians 2:19

Walks by Faith in the Word of God

"We live by faith, not by sight."  2 Corinthians 5:7

"For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." Romans 1:17

"But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him." Hebrews..10:38

"You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:26

Mind set on what the Spirit Desires

"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace." Romans 8:5-6a

"So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking."

"... Be made new in the attitude of your minds." Ephesians 4:17,23

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2

Walks, not by the Flesh but by the Spirit

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans..5:1

"Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation - but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by yhe Spirityou put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live." Romans.8:12-13

"So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law." Galatians 5:16-18

Controlled by the Spirit

The sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.  You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ."  Romans 8:7-9

Temple of the Living God

"... For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." 2 Corinthians 6:16

Don't you know that yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? 1 Cor. 3:16

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. 1Cor..6:19-20
